Johnny’s Gourmet Pizza & Yiros

Johnny’s Gourmet Pizza & Yiros – Burnside

538 Glynburn Rd, Burnside. www.johnnysgourmet.com.au

Description:
Gourmet chickpea and herb patties, semi-dried tomatoes, basil pesto, bulgarian fetta, spanish onion and lettuce on organic turkish bread served with chips.

Price:
$12.90.

This is my local take-away shop and I’ve never had a bad meal from here. The boys that work in there are really friendly and make an effort to remember their customers. Their chips are to die for and the wood oven pizzas are amazing! But on to the veggie burger:

I ordered the burger without the onion and substituted semi-dried tomato for fresh tomato, just for personal preference. The patty was home-made and very flavourful but fell apart very easily. Combined with the basil pesto and fetta, I found the burger quite salty and the fresh tomato I added was quite a relief! The Turkish bread was really soft and yummy but eat this burger fast because it goes soggy really quickly. Overall, full of flavour, salty but still pretty delicious.

The British Hotel

28 Apr

The British Hotel – Port Adelaide

Description:
Crumbed, house made, vegetable pattie served with mixed salad, onion jam and seeded mustard mayonaise on a toasted pannini bun.

Price:
$16.50. I got the Burger & Brew deal for $17.50, had a lovely pint of Vine Ale.

Firstly, this pub has been beautifully renovated, the decor is nice and the huge balcony is a plus! All the staff were really great and even let me taste test the tap beers before I chose what I wanted!

The veggie pattie was full of veggies (duh), from what I could see/taste; zucchini, carrot, onion, yellow capsicum. It had a really crispy crumbed outer. The sweet onion jam worked really well with the crunchy pattie. I loved that the tomato was sliced really thin, because then the bun didn’t go soggy!  The mayo was delicious! Everything worked so well together, and the burger was huge!
